I would appreciate if anyone who is serious about raiding with HLS answers this poll truthfully to give us an idea of Authenticator adoption levels in the guild.
Thanks!

Shiz and I both have one now. I learned the hard way, I would say get one, they are inexpensive.

we're doing pretty well in the authenticator department. since these hackers have access to your wow passwords, they probably have access to passwords like the HLS site or your bank accounts. Be careful if you have been hacked before, its pretty easy to get hacked again unless you change something.

SMP raised a good point to me.
Another avenue of attack is for you to use the same password you use for WoW but use it on other sites. The hackers just need your battle.net email address (public info practically) and then you register to use a compromised web service like a forum and if you happen to use the same password you use for wow... BAM. The stuff I am typing right now to the HLS site is unencrypted and packets have a way of being monitored.
just make sure you are mixing up your passwords and not using the same passwords for WOW that you use for logging into websites. Another layer of security would be to create an email address that is ONLY for blizzard's battle.net.
The best layer of security to protect your wow account is an authenticator key. But, these tips will help you keep your RL bank accounts safe too.

You should probably periodically change your password, too. I never recommend a set schedule, but somewhere from 60 to 120 days is reasonable. If you know it's been a while, take the time to change your password, and do try to keep them different on different services, *especially* if those services are related, like World of Warcraft and WoW sites (like this one). =)

I now have a book in my desk drawer with all the passwords I use....better to rummage through that then have to deal with a hacking. :p

I'm an enormous fan of 1Password. It stores passwords for websites, can generate passwords, and can keep an encrypted library of notes, software keys, credit cards, and other personal data. It's a Mac application, but there's a new beta for Windows, and I'm *really* glad they've finally gotten to that point, since I'd love to be able to have access to my password library from my work computers.
There's also an iOS app, but the syncing for those devices is a little more clunky (on computers, they recommend using Dropbox to keep your 1Password keychain synced between machines, but iOS can't do it that way, so it syncs via USB or wireless).
