    UI Mods

What UIs does everyone use? Class specific or not

    Currently I use

    CT_Mod

Shard Tracker -- great for locks

Auctioneer - Full -- This is really nice because it includes information regarding uses and vendor sale prices along with AH prices of any Item

    Titan Panel

and Banish Watch <- helps when I need to chain banish.

    Cosmos Alpha

I turn a lot of stuff off, and modify a couple things.

    Then I add in CT_RaidAssist and CT_RaidTracker
I did it for the lulz.

I went mod hunting for my hunter last night and got a few i've been meaning to try. BGBuddy which is supposed to help in Battlegrounds. It has settings for each. I haven't been in a BG with it yet but I am hoping it is the mod that shows the mini-map with all the different nodes and who controls them. Would be great for AB.

I also picked up a range finder mod. I was initially thinking it would be great for the mag fight as it is somewhat a pain to maintain max range when mag is moving about to different pc's however the true utility of this will be pvp. it notifies me if my target is in firing range, out of range, within deadzone (5-8yds) or in melee range. Great for kiting in pvp/pve without having to look behind every couple seconds.

i also picked up a pvp location mod which gives a bit more info to local and world defense. for example, rather than saying Mulgore is under attack it will say Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore. There is another one I think i will try that actually gives x y coordinates which would come in handy for patrolling the Barrens since the locations there just suck.

for UI i only use CT mod and of course CTRA.

I also grabbed a weaponswitch mod so I can set weapon sets for melee and range in order to switch to a big 2 hander for a 40% chance to crit raptor strike. considering it crits for 900+ against a rogue it is well worth it.

    gatherer is a must have.

i found another mod that places a bar (like a casting bar) in the center of my screen to tell me how much longer my freeze trap will last (if the duration isn't shortened by resists) and gives me a warning when there is 3 seconds up which is just how long it takes to cast aimed shot.

and scrolling combat text is nice for pvp to see what is going on without having to read the combat log.

oh... and i have cooldown countdown to let me know how much longer until i can cast cooldown abilites - concussion, scatter, traps, feign death. again, useful for pvp.

almost forgot... i picked up a tranq shot mod that should help notify the raid and more specificaly other hunters in the raid if i MISS my tranqshot. It will not spam the channel whenever i cast it - only if i miss which is nice as the macro i had made previously was prone to spamming the raid chat.

Until this week the only mod I used was CT_RaidAssist, InfoBar and IB_SoulShards. On a whim I decided to try the whole CT suite, disliked or didn't need a lot of it, and ended up with the following:

    AutoTrinketBar
    CT_BarMod
    CT_BottomBar
    CT_MailMod
    CT_MasterMod (dependency)
    CT_RaidAssist
    CT_UnitFrames
    DmgCalc
    IB_MiniDPS
    IB_SoulShards
    InfoBar
MovableBags (because of CT screwing things up)
    QuickMountEquip

A screenshot of a transitional arrangement is here: http://grapefish.org/~pknoll/raidlayout.jpeg

That's missing AutoTrinketBar and is using the built-in sidebars rather than the CT ones, which I've switched to. I don't like having a lot of combat dependencies on a UI mod, so have tried to minimize that, but some of the stuff in CT is too nice to ignore.

Well, I use and/or have tried quite a few. Some of the more useful ones:
Telo's Selfcast - Casts a useful spell on me if I have an enemy targeted otherwise casts the spell on the target. Easier than holding down the alt key at the same time.
Telo's Lootlink - Builds a database of all items you see with the item's vendor price. So if I'm runing short on bag space, I know which item to destroy.
Gatherer - Amazing addon for herbalists/miners. Mark your map and mini-map with any location where you've found a resource.
Saien's Autobar - Hotbar that scans your bags and puts up buttons by category. Some categories are water, food, health stones, mana stones, etc.
Titan Panel - Useful to get info at a glance. I have plugins that keep track of rolls, my repairs, current zone loc, etc.
Saien's EquipManager - Armour set swapping mod. Allows me to swap in Carrot and boots with mithril spurs when I use mount. Autoequips Argent Dawn commision in plaugelands. Also includes a trinket manager.
Saien's BattlegroundAssist - Shows pretty accurate cap timers for events in AV and AB. Autoaccepts raid invites in BG. Can invite everyone in BG to your group. Auto-turnin for AV quests.
CT_Mailmod - Adds another tab to the mail box so you can send multiple items to one person.
MailTo - Adds a droplist to the mail send pane that works like a simple address book.
Healix - Calls out which spell is being cast. Not just for healers.
ABButtons(?) - Puts a cooldown counter on abilities i.e. I can see how long till I can frost nova again at a glance instead of trying to see how far the icon has cycled.

All of these can be used stand-alone and don't require Cosmos or some other compiliation. However, you may have to learn a few slash commands to bring them up. I'm currently using the Nurfed UI for action bars and party frames. I think I'm going to try using CT_Viewport and Flexbar to really minimize stuff further.

I tried using FlexBar once. I spent almost an hour setting everything up, getting my screen just the way I wanted it. It worked for a week, then they patched and I would have had to do it all over again. I now use the BibBars mod. Not as customizable as FlexBars, but much easier to set up for those who would rather use a dragtab to size and move your buttons.

FlexBar isn't for the faint of heart. But it does allow you to do some very cool things as a result of game events ie gaining a buff, entering combat, etc. I had the same problem you did but I think those problems may be less likely now with all of the changes Blizz made to the way saved variables are stored.

I am using the cosmos alpha set + CTRA. I used to have lootlink and gatherer and auctioneer. haven't put them back on since 1.8.

Wardrobe-lix mod is my favorite new mod. I have created 6 different outfits for Sol.

    1 for MTing -- all sta+def
1 for Shadow resist gear (180ish buffed)
1 for fire resist gear (230ish buffed)
1 for +crit gear (23.5% to crit in battle stance)
1 for when I am mounted (swaps gloves/boots/trinket)
1 for when I am eating or drinking

it was almost required to get this mod since it was taking me 10-20 seconds to hunt through my bags and switch into my FR gear down in MC.

cosmos has a lot of good mods, but I disable several of the more useless/bloated ones. The mod I need to get but haven't yet right now is Titanbar, that is a nice looking mod.
