    WoW 2.0 Mod Collection

Well all, I present to you a mod pack for WoW 2.0 (and change).

This is a collection of mods that myself and Swarfy have been using in The Burning Crusade to get an almost 100% replication of what we had pre-2.0. The main reason I am doing this is that pretty much every site that has addons for WoW will be hopelessly bogged down starting tomorrow. This will give you a head start, provided we can even log in.

Important – From the looks of things you will HAVE to delete your existing Interface folder. It is also possible that you will have to delete your WTF and WDB folders as some of the databases may not be compatible with WoW 2.0. I have not verified this yet. But, you will HAVE to delete out your Interface folder, as NOTHING will work with 2.0, and I do recommend deleting your WTF folder as well.

Once your Interface folder has been deleted Log into WoW once then log out. This will recreate the Interface (and WTF & WTB folders if you deleted them as well).

The Redgar and Swarfette World of Warcraft 2.0 Mod collection with the Incredibly Long Ambigious Name as a Link so you can’t miss it.

The pack is in Zip format, so just open it (Windows XP does this natively), and extract it all to the (new) Addons folder (Inside the Interface folder).

Now, so you know, a LOT of these mods are using Ace2 as their backbone. As such the interface to configure them appears as a floating window menu (slightly similar to the XP start Menu) and it also requires a few extra files for the library. Some mods include their needed libraries, but others require AIO Library Package. I will be marking all Ace2 mods.

The following is a list of what mod does what, and at a minimum, what you need to know to configure them:

    Advanced Tradeskill Window
    – Simply put this alters the crafting window by putting what you can make on the left and making it on the right. It allows multiple que’s, auto queing of mats (Have to make A, but it requires B and C, just select A and it auto-que’s B and C). It also will auto-but reagents from vendors.

AG Unitframes – Ace2 - This is a Unit Fames mod. It allows individual scaling, different layouts, and dragable positioning. Not quite as good as Discord Unit Frames, but works, and is a bit simpler. Slash command is /aguf, or /aguf config.

Atlas – I think most of you know this one. A very good map mod. Puts an icon on the mini-map for the options and to open.

Auctioneer – I am tentatively including this, but I have problems with it in the beta. You may want to wait to download it, but with deleting your WTF and/or WDB folders your database will be gone. Includes EnhTooltip (a requirement for some tooltip modification and hooks), Informant (This is the tie-in for the tooltips to let you know what mobs are required for quests and the like).

Banzai Alert – Ace2 – I highly highly recommend this mod. Simply put this mod gives you an audio (it says “Agro”) and visual (the perimeter of the screen flashes red) alert when you gain agro. The flashing can get annoying, and possibly life threatening, and is able to be turned off. /banzai for a list of the options in your chat window. (/banzai flash, though worded weird, turns off the flash)

aUF Banzai – Turns your health bar red when you have agro. It can be a bit useful as a supplement to Banzai Alert.

Bartender 3 – Ace2 – This is a very good bar mod. While not as powerful as Discord Action Bars, in a pinch it will get you through if you really like DAB. Allows for scaling, padding (space between the buttons), layout, location placement. /bar shows the options. The ones to remember are /bar config and /bar lock (if you get FuBar there is a module for it that allows you to do the same thing without typing).

BugSack and Bug Grabber – Ace2 – These two are for errors. If you wish to give feedback on mods, or dig into them yourself, these can be helpful. It displays errors in your chat window, but can get a bit spammy if you have a lot of problems.

Cartographer – Ace2 - Addons to manipulate the map. It sound simple, but the alpha settings and movability are nice.

Chronometer – Ace2 - I really like this mod. What this mod does is shows you a timer bar for debufs you have on the target. As a hunter it shows the time left for Hunters Mark, Scorpid Sting, Wing Clip. On boss fights this thing rocks. According to the developer this works with all classes. You can move, size, alpha, a ton of options. This is another Ace2 mod. /chron shows the options in the chat window. /chron config is the best, and check “Show Anchor” to move, and “Test” to get an idea of how you want to scale it to suit you.

Coins – Another mod I really like just for it’s simplicity. When you make or loose money it tells you in your chat window how much. Get on a flight path it says “you are so and so poorer”. Get money and it says “You are so and so richer”. Go to a vendor and sell a bunch of stuff and it tells you how much total you gained or lost.

CT-Mods – There is a major rewrite going on by the CT team. The versions we are using in the beta were conversions, not official. I am not including them here as an official version will be much better suited and should be available fairly soon.

Damage Meters – Another I think a lot are familiar with. Shows a lot of options from damage dealt and received, healing, healing received, for parties and raids.

DeuceCommander – Ace2 – This mod I believe is required in order to get the graphical configuration windows (gui) for Ace2 mods.

eCastingbar – Quite a nice replacement for the default (crap) casting bar. This will show you delays (say for instance when Sab is getting smacked around), and now shows the Enemy casting. I found this better than the default setting for enemy casting, as you can move it to a position that is easy to see. /ecastingbar or /ecb will bring up the Options window. So you know, the Mirror bar is used for secondary spells and effects, like Feign death on Hunters. I recommend checking “Hide Outline” once you get the bars placed where you want them as this will make them invisible till they are called for.

Enhanced Tooltip – This is the backbone for any mod that hooks into the tooltip or allows customization of it. A requirement really.

EQL3 – aka Extended Quest Log – This one is working with some modifications I had to make for a recent patch to the beta. If there are issues I have a version that was working just fine before, but the changes will be going in eventually anyways, so… What this does is expands the Quest Log to something larger, easier to read, and easier to see quests. So much better than the default Quest Log. Has a built-in Options button.

EquipCompare – Another mod that a lot of people can’t live without. When any item that is equippable shows up, loot, linked, AH, this will show you the tooltip window for it, and a tooltip window of what you have equipped in the same slot. /eqc help for a listing of the options in the chat window.

ErrorMonster - Ace2 – A simply behind the scenes redirect for error messages. I haven’t seen an issue with it so I keep it.

ezDismount – This is a mod that once you use it you will wonder where it has been all your WoW life. Simply put, this dismounts you quickly and easily. Run to a Flight Master while on a mount, talk to him, and while you are selecting where you want to go, it dismounts you automagically. This also works to dismount you if you push an attack button and when you go to pick/mine. Also works in Shaman and Druid travel forms. /ezdismount for options.

FuBar – Ace2 - This I am learning to like a bit. Another Ace2 addon. At it’s basic level it is a replacement for Titan bars, and there are a whole bunch of modules for it, more so than Titan. It seems daunting at first, but is really customizable. Right-Click on the bar for all the options, which are really self explanatory.

FuBar Modules I am including, BagFu (shows bad inventory), DurabilityFu (duh), FuXPFu (In preparation for the expansion), MoneyFu (money at a glance), PerformanceFu (shows fps, memory, and the like), TopscoreFu (shows your highest hits and crits, a little spammy at first), VolumeFu (allows adjustment of all the volume levels).

IceHUD – Ace2 - If you have used ArcHUD this is recognizable. The only real thing it doesn’t do that Arc did is have the option to show party members. Very customizable, and shows the regen rate of energy for rogues (nothing yet for mana users). /icehud for the configuration window.

IDCard – Ace2 - Simply put, this pulls the item icon and adds it to the tooltip. /idcard for the few options it has.

Informant – Partially Covered in Auctioneer, this is an item database mod for selling and buying from vendors and a database for Mobs on quests and more if I remember right). The default options are pretty good. If you need to configure, /informant shows the options in the chat window.

LootLink – Another well known by a lot of people. This offers a viewable database of any and every item you have ever seen. Makes an icon on the minimap and you can type in /lootlink or /ll to bring up the window. Has it own Options button. Also known as Telo’s Lootlink – Enhanced.

Ludwig – Same thing as Lootlink really. A little simpler in it’s layout I think, but might be a bit to simple. I am not sure if it hooks into the tooltips the way LootLink can. Alos has a sellvalue module with it to remember sell value. I haven’t had any conflicts with it at all. /Ludwig to bring up the window to see the pretties.

MCP – A bit of a Tron reference. This is a Master Control Program. It allows loading and unloading of addons, as well as the ability to reload the UI. /mcp to bring up the window.

Mendeleev – This mods is actually pretty handy with LootLink or Ludwig. It shows the drop location of an item in the tooltip, I believe for bosses only, but I am not sure. There is a database already in it. /mendeleev for options.

MobHealth3 – Ace2 – A mod I am sure a lot of people are familiar with. This estimates a mobs health. It has an initial guess of the value, and it gets more accurate the more times you fight the mob. /mobhealth3 for chat window options.

Monkey Mods – These include Quest (allows for tracking of quests, better than the default), Speed (shows your movement speed outside of instances as a percentage in a movable, sizable bar), and Buddy (minimap icon). In the current version of the beta MonkeyQuest is somewhat broke, but the others work like a charm. If you have issues just delete these and grab the latest versions in the next couple of days.

MoveAnything – As the name implies it allows you to move pretty much anything you want. With the absence of CT Mods I used this to move my bags. This adds a button in the Main Menu (pushing Esc).

OmniCC – Almost a must of an addon. Simply put this adds a visable numerical cooldown count on top of the icon for everything from spells, to potions, to your healthstone. /omnicc for options in the chat window.

RangeRecolor – Ace2 - This mod ties into the action buttons and recolors them when the target is out of range. Red is the default color. /rangerecolor or /rr for chat window options. This may become useless with the new version of Discord.

Rating Buster – Ace2 - Not quite a must, but a highly recommended. With the new changes to spell hits, crit hit, all the combat ratings, this will show in the tooltip what the percentage actually is. This will also show the percentage on items that are now converted to the new format. Also, the combat ratings adjust as you level, this will automatically adjust to your level. /ratingbuster for chat options.

Rawr! – Ace2 - More for a giggle than anything else. When you type in /roar you get a text, but no sound. This mod enables the sound to play (Blizzard put it in for each race, just never turned it on). Sadly though only you hear it. For what it’s worth, /rawr for chat options.

Scrolling Combat Text & SCTD – Ace2 - This is the original Scrolling Combat Text that Blizzard tried (poorly) to emulate. Many many options for customization on everything from text size, what and where to show. If you haven’t used it just spend a little bit of time, it is worth it. /sct works for chat window options, but /sct menu is what you want to use, and you can access the damage options from that window as well.

SpellTips – A very handy mod for all casters (and I think, but not sure, melee as well). When you mouse over a spell it tells you how much it hits/heals for. What this mod does is takes into consideration your gear, all that +damage or + healing you have got, and adjusts the totals in the tooltip. No options that I can find to set.

Squeenix – Ace2 - Simply this is a square mini-map. As an addition it hides a few frames, and allows you to zoom in with the mouse-wheel while your cursor is over the mini-map (very handy). It can make positioning mini-map icons a bit of a pain, but not to much. /squeenix for chat window options, some of which are very nice (alpha and scale, and if you change the size just move it using MoveAnything).

StopTheSpam – Ace2 - Get a lot of addons that all tell you they have loaded when you first login? Well this will remove that. No options that I could find.

Stubby – This allows addons that need it to be loaded on demand. Pretty much a must for some addons.

TinyTip with Extras and Options – Ace2 – This allows for a great deal of customization on the tooltip when you mouse over things. From placement, to anchoring, to letting you know a mob is needed for a quest (though this may be Informant that is doing this, have not verified). Almost a must have, especially for upcoming leveling. /tinytip brings up the options window.

TrinketMenu – A lot of you probably know this one already. Another must have. It gives you a little window, scalable in size, for Trinket control and fast swapping. By default it has a mini-map icon, but if you turn that off /trinkey options brings up the options window. There is also a readme.txt in the folder.

WitchHunt – Ace2 - This can be really helpful is some encounters (especially bosses).. What this does it notifies you, in text on your screen, when a target is casting a spell. By default it will notify you when anyone around you is casting, though I think the anyone around you is limited to NPC’s. That can be turned off and limited to target only. /witchhunt will show the options in the chat window.

As a note, these are all mods from the expansion, but, though I will not guarantee 100%, they should all work with no problems what so ever, as TBC is version 2.0, just a few patches ahead.

So there ya have it. I know it is a lot to read, but I figured I would try to help out with descriptions as much as I can. If you have any quests please feel free to contact me or Swarfy about any settings or problems with the mods.

Yes Shiz, I will stop over and help if you want.

It does seem a bit daunting yes, but a lot of them just work right off the bat. Really the only ones that will require setting up initially are agUnitframes (placement and options), Bartender3, FuBar (what to show and where), Chronometer (for placement), SCT (as default can get spammy and visually clumbersome), Monkey (for placement and maybe a few settings), ecastingbar (placement mostly), MoveAnything (bag movement is all I used it for due to lack of CT), and TinyTip (for placement and what to show).

The nice thing about Ace2 mods is they are all really easy and plain spoken on what setting does what.

Oh, I use more than just those, just not from this list. Gatherer, Call of Elements, and Wardrobe-AL round out the ones I use a lot. One of the fishing mods, too. KTH and RaidManager too for raiding, of course.

    Re: WoW 2.0 Mod Collection

Has anybody heard the saying "Less is More"???

Of course, at least one modern comedian took issue with that, "less isn't more! MORE is more! I don't want less, I want MORE!" :)

    Duf Unit frames
    Combat Caller
    KTM
    Raid Manager
Raid Target Manager (incompatible with Duf Unit frames, btw. Disables raid target icons)

    A few others.

I'm in Melfena's boat with this one. I think the addons get overdone. You do reach a point where you stop watching the game and start watching the addon bars. I think the healers are kind of in this boat already.

I use 99% of them, And i do just fine.. I don't use Decursive, never have and never will.... but to each his own.. *shrugs* these mods DO work. You can pick and choose what ones you want, And either don't copy or delete the one's you don't want...

    Re: WoW 2.0 Mod Collection

I use similar mods, and some that don't seem to be listed. Blizz's default UI is "acceptable" just as a Pinto wagon is acceptable... until you drive a Ferrari. Then the Pinto blows chunks. I discovered Decursive too late to rely heavily on it, so it's passing won't be overly missed. Though DAB/DUF being late in the recoding cycle is gonna be a hardship, I may have to go to Bib or Bartender...
