Please post what your current talent build is along with a link to the build if possible.

    I'm currently 20/31 combat swords.

Pretty generic 20/31/0 combat swords build.

This will most likely be changing soon to a more PvP oriented dagger build.

Have you ever considered trying to pick up Opportunity in the sub tree? From what I've read it REALLY helps the dps... possibly more than have 5/5 in dagger spec and having Adrenaline Rush.

It's a toss up... AR is great for bosses like Garr where you can go all out. Sometimes it just seems to situational to me though.

    Re: Rogues post talent specs

Sorry guys, I havent been paying attention to the forums.
I have mostly been Seal Fate 30/8/13 since I hit 60. I just respec'd (since you posted this) to 17/21/13. This gave me an extra 5% to crit with daggers (im a dagger rogue) and 5% to hit, as well as 50% silence when I kick.

Up until I hit 60, I was Cold Blood, Prep Rogue. Which is NICE for PvP. Very nice. I am tempted to go back to that, but I still liked Seal Fate as well.

With the new patch coming out, I think I am going to try a Seal Fate with Prep build.
Drop the extra BS Crit Chance from combat and do mostly Assassination/Sub.

Take a look at this build and tell me what you think.
    http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jheroxzIZMZEzcch0o

In assassination, it gives me Cold Blood (yummy) Imp Kidney shot (I find myself using that all the time, and with the extra damage when they are stunned....MUAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH) and/but only 60% in Seal Fate (only get extra combo on crit 60% of the time)
Under combat I only put 2 points for Imp SS.
Subtelty I went for Master of Deception and Opportunity like usual. I like the way the combined two older skills into Camoflage, but the faster spd and extra time till stealth... thats what I have Vanish for and you'll see :) From there I went Imp Ambush and Initiative. Initiative will give me some extra combo points when i start out (hopefully compensate for seal fate being low) Also, I put 3 points in Setup. 45% to add a combo point when I dodge an attack or resist a spell. more combo points to compensate for SF being low (I hope)
Now I need to put one more point in Subtelty to get Prep, so I chose Ghostly Strike. I chose it because it is decent damage and it adds to my dodge, so hopefully i will get some more combo points from Setup. Same energy cost as SS, and so you know (in case you havent used it before) it has a cool down, so it is not a replacement of SS.
    Than Prep of course.

Post your thoughts and your ideas on build currently and upcoming.

    Re: Rogues post talent specs

I don't think you'll want to give up the 5/5 with the seal fate; having 2 combo points GUARANTEED on a crit is a pretty important aspect of seal fate. I'm assuming that you're going daggers with this build which means most of your damage should come from backstabs(more damage per energy spent = more efficient than sinister strike). I'd thus highly suggest picking up improved backstab for almost guaranteed backstab crits over %50 of the time.

The other thing I'd stress is giving Vigor a shot; this will obviously kill your prep build but there's something beautiful about having 120 energy: not all rogues have access to it. Since you're in an MC farm guild you should be able to hit 5/8 nightslayer with little effort on farm nights.

The reason 120 energy = amazing is the fact that both Ambush and Backstab cost 60 energy a piece; 120 energy affords you the most powerful opening burst damage in the game for rogues. What I liked to do with a vigor build was set my ambush and backstab key to the same hot key. This allowed me to merely double tap for an instant ambush followed by an instant back stab... for potentially over 3000 damage on a cloth wearer!! Oh, and the kicker of it is... because seal fate was at 100% I'd be almost guaranteed having 4 combo points built up after the 3000 point opener!! This means you're merely seconds away from another crap load of damage with eviscerate. I'd recommend the following vigor build if this interests you:

    http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=yheroxzAoGcZAbM

Couple notes on the above build:
    1. Having 2/3 in improved S&D should be enough to keep it up at all times while raiding; S&D is critical for raiding damage.
    2. With all the ways out there for someone to break you out of stealth I believe having 2/2 in Sleight of Hand is more important than 5/5 in MoD. You'll be doing a shit ton of burst damage with this build so having the %20 reduced threat will be nice. And having a 2% chance to resist crits is great as well.
    3. I had originally put the last two points into improved ambush; to be truly devastating you NEED the initial ambush to be a crit. However I think the possibilities with having initiative could be > improved ambush. With 2/3 Initiative you have the chance of exploding on the opener with 3 combo points off the bat!! Crit on your instant back stab and you'll be in place to lay waste to them with a 5 point eviscerate.

    ------------------------
Combat Daggers gained a MAJOR buff in the upcoming review. Why? Because with the extra points available due to Opportunity being moved to tier 1 we can now afford to attain the most devastating of raiding abilities: Adrenaline Rush. Previous to 1.12 it wasn't possible to attain adrenaline rush without gimping your build due to loss of opportunity. I believe the following combat daggers build will be most devastating in the upcoming patch:

    http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=j0eM0xZGcV0bvz0foV

    Couple notes on this build:
    1. The points in Assassination could be moved around a bit. I still think having 2 points in S&D will be necessary, but a case could be made for moving those to Improved Evisc if the ability truly scales well in 1.12. Although a point could be moved out of Lethality into Relentless Strikes... not sure if Relentless Strikes would be > an extra 6% crit damage though.
    2. If you don't plan on putting points into Improved Eviscerate, I'd consider moving the 3 points in the combat tree out of Aggression and putting them into 2/2 Endurance and 5/5 Dual Wield Specialization. This would make the build slightly more pvp friendly due to the improved cooldown on sprint and evasion.

    ------------------------------------------
Combat Swords won't really change much from 1.11 to 1.12. This will most likely be the build of choice:
    http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jhezoxZG0Ez0Vzxfo

Again, there are always ways to tweak these builds to tailor them more towards pvp vs pve. Deflection/Riposte could be dropped to add points into Improved Sprint/Endurance, etc...

    -------------------------------------------
I unfortunately don't have enough experience with the Subtlety tree to really comment on how it'll work post 1.11. I did try a Hemo build at one point and found it lacking due to my gear at the time. I do think there could be some interesting applications for Premed.

    Re: Rogues post talent specs

Now that my AB grind is over, i am thinking about respecing to a combat daggers build. I think that would be a better raiding build since i won't be pvping as much. Something close to the combat build Prowl has listed is probably what I would change to.
