This is more of a public post-it note than a walkthrough, everything here is based on my observations yesterday.
AE lifedrain warning:
There is no combat log warning for when Hakkar is going to start the AE lifedrain, but he does it every 90 seconds after the first one. That's why we never got a warning before the first drain, only before subsequent ones. So for the first lifedrain, we'll just have to time it ourselves. Most likely the first drain comes 90 seconds after combat starts.
Poisoning Hakkar:
If you are not poisoned when Hakkar lifedrains you, he heals for 1000hp/sec and damages you for 200hp/sec. If you are poisoned, he damages you for 100hp/sec and damages himself for 200hp/sec. The 100hp/sec damage he does to you added to the damage from the poison works out to 133hp/sec, so you'll actually get hurt less. We should probably attempt to get all 20 people poisoned, since one un-poisoned person counters the poison from 5 other people.
Positioning:
As far as I could tell, Hakkar didn't have any special attacks other than the mind control and the ae lifedrain. Why do we tank him away from the rest of the raid? If we tanked him in the middle of the raid, the MT wouldn't have to run as far to get poisoned. Also, if someone else gets aggro, the MTs will already be in range to taunt.
Corrupted Blood:
I noticed I got this poison on top of the regular poison every time we killed a Son of Hakkar. It only lasts about 10 seconds and does 200dm/2 sec. If we got our timing right, I believe everyone could have this debuff as well when Hakkar starts lifedraining. Would this damage him even more? If it does, I think it's important we get very good at timing our Son of Hakkar kills; something along the lines of waking the son out of sleep at the 15 sec warning and then unleash hell to kill him fast, so that we all are only poisoned for a few seconds before the lifedrain.
