Here's how I've been setting up the healing for our MC raids. Duer does it slightly differently, but not enough to really matter.
General Rules:
The Shaman grouped with MT 1 is always assigned to MT1, and if there is a shaman grouped with the MA they are assigned to the MA. Likewise, when any specific character is assigned healers any healers in their group are assigned to that character when possible.
No more than one Druid per MT when possible, because they don't stack well. A lot of their healing is in Heals over Time spells, which don't stack so having more than one druid on a target is inefficient. in general, no more than one druid is assigned to any healing assignment when possible for this very reason.
DPS spec healing classes - shadow priests, feral druids, ele/enh shamans - are normally raid healers for trash clearing, and in general are left free to do damage when possible.
Healing assignments are changed as little as possible from boss fight to boss fight. This makes it easier on the healers and easier to set up.
Trash setup:
MT1: Priest, Druid, Shaman (shaman from MT 1 group)
MT2: Priest, Druid, Shaman
MT 3-5: Covered by raid healers.
MA: Priest, Shaman (Shaman from MA group)
Raid Healing: Around 4 is plenty for normal fights, primarily healing spec characters with no other assignment, though damage spec healing classes are also responsible for this.
Dispels on ACH and FL fights: 1-2 priests from MA or raid healing groups.
Post-trash fight rezzes: 3-4 shamans with raid healing or damage assignments
Lava Packs: 1 healer per warlock team (curser/banisher)
Luci:
MT1: Same 3 healers as for trash clears, plus 1-2 extra to start.
MT2 (normally left guard): Same set of three healers from trash assignments
MT3 (normally right guard): 3 healers - priest, druid, shaman where possible
Note: MT 2 and 3 healers should be healing spec if possible. When their MT's guard goes down, one group (either MT 2 or MT 3) will back up the MT 1 healers while the other group does raid healing with a focus on melee dps.
Raid dispells: 2 priests
Heal Mages: 2 healers
Shamans: Tremor totems down until guards are dead.
Note 2: Having a healer assigned to raid heal from the start is frequently useful due to the AE damage Luci does, depends on availability.
Mags:
MT1: Everyone not assigned a different role.
Hunters: 2 healers, including the shaman normally in the hunter group
Melee dps: 2 healers, usually a priest and the shaman in the MA group
Raid healing: 3 healers - priest, druid, shaman
Shamans: Tremor totems down.
Gehennas:
MT1: Everyone not assigned a different role.
MT2 (normally left guard): 3 healers - same set as assigned for trash
MT3 (normally right guard): 3 healers - same set as assigned for Luci
Note: MT 2 and 3 healers should be healing spec if possible. When their MT's guard goes down, one group backs up MT 1 healers while the other group does raid healing.
Mages: 2 healers, usually priest or druid and a shaman, using ones grouped with mages if possible
Raid healing: 2-3 healers of mixed class
Garr:
MT1: Normal MT healer group to start
MT 2-5: One healer with a healing spec each.
Warlocks: One shaman each. (NOTE: This is more healing than needed most of the time, so it's worth considering having a healer cover a pair of warlocks.)
Raid healing: 2-3 healers of mixed classes
As MT2-5 targets get killed, their healers switch to assisting the MT 1 healers.
Geddon:
MT1: Every healer not assigned a different role
Dispel on healers: 2 priests
Dispel on warlocks/mages: 2 priests
Bubble the bomb: 1 priest (If we don't have 5 priests, omit this, dispels are more important)
Heal Melee DPS: 2 healers, including the MA shaman
Raid heal ranged damage and healers: 3 healers of a mix of classes
Shazz:
MT1: At least one healer from each of the four groups, usually a priest.
Druids: Help mages in the groups remove curse (including the MT), then heal at their discretion
Dispel Shazz: 2 dispellers on opposite sides, priests or shamans, a non-healing shaman is perfect for the role.
Heal groups: 1-2 priests/shamans per pair of groups
Sulfuron:
MT 1: Normal healing group
MT 2-5: 2 healers each, no priests. As their Tank's target goes down, help with raid healing or MT 1
Priests: dispel, with different group or class priorities assigned
Golemagg:
Rotation on MT 1, 3 rotations each consisting of a priest, druid, and shaman, all healing spec if possible.
MT2 and MT3: 2 healers each, priest and druid/shaman
Melee dps: 2-3 mixed healers, including the MA shaman
Majordomo:
MT1-5: 2-3 healers each, 3 when possible, priest/druid/shaman mix is ideal
Raid healing: 2 healers minimum, 1 priest/druid and 1 shaman
Ragnaros:
We've been doing this with roughly 1/3 of the healers on the 2 MTs, 1/3 on melee dps, and 1/3 on ranged dps and healers. We can probably switch 1-2 from ranged dps/healers to melee dps, but this split works fairly well.
