    Instriden's new Hunter Spec

After reading about different Hunter specs, this spec seemed to produce the highest DPS with a ranged weapon.
Yes, it still sucks at melee but thats the kind of hunter I'm going for.
There are tons of opinions as to what the best course of talents to choose is, but until you actually play a lvl 60 hunter in all sorts of instances & situations you have no idea how hard Hunter's are to spec or play well.

    Fire Resist 4 - 90 pts
    Greater Stamina 8 - 125 pts

    4 pts left over

This spec is what I will be testing over the next while, and will keep an eye on my results. All of this is just another way for Blizzard to money sink Hunters... im poor enough as it is

Interesting to know how other HAWC Hunters are spec'd and their results.

    Cheers

    Hey,

    I went 5/14/31.

On paper i liked the idea of being able to cc two mobs per pull. We ran BRD last night and honestly i am not happy with it so far. 12 seconds is not that long and 300 nature damage is not that much damage. My cat i did like yours exactly!!! My bear i maxed armor and hp. I am going to play around with it a little more and see if i can get used to it. I really missed scattershot also last night. More testing is needed.

    5 Beast for ImpAotH
    15 Survival - up to 5/5 survivalist
    31 Marksmanship - Trueshot Aura

On paper ImpAotH should be a significant DPS increase using a fast bow... though with the added 1.5 second cooldown on weapon swap you can no longer swap weapons to use a slow bow for Multishot/Aimed/Scatter so that somewhat mitigates the increase ImpAotH gives.

That is the spec I took anyway. I use Hurricane for PvE (low aggro and many ImpAotH procs with .74 weapon speed using rapidfire and proc) and Bloodseeker(?) PvP AV quest reward for PvP.. 3.4 hard hitting bow.

This is very close to what my spec was before the patch so I am very intested to see what equal level mobs are like now. Farming Heavy Leather for TB faction was going VERY fast with Multi-shot nuking the three targets for over 1000 each. Granted these were lvl 34-37 but the rate they were dropping was much faster than before. MM tree with TSA is fantastic and the % bonus from Survival for mob types appears to be working great. Overall damage went up for auto-shot as well. So far so good. I am looking forward to trying a better Survival tree blend as well but giving up TSA is hard. My RAP went up 23 points self-buffed.

I went 6 into SV for the slaying skills
    31 into MM for Trueshot
    remainder into pet.

    For pet skills
On my King B., full armor (ac's at 5600+ now), 120FR (MC on my mind), rest into claw.
Next is to make a scorpion pet...

I just started a Hunter two days ago, and I'm already level 17. At this rate I should hit 60 sometime later this week. =P But yeah, these guys are leveling machines.

So how viable is a 31 Pet Mastery build?? Looking at the talents, it seems to me that you could construct a pretty lethal pet. And I kind of like the idea of having one of those. =D

But I'm also very interested in a 31 point Survival build as well. There are numerous talents in there that that stun for 3-5 seconds, perfect for kiting a mob around. I loved the sound of Wyvren Sting, and how it would enable some CC for a double-pull. But Scuttle's comment has left me feeling a little skeptical.

At this point I'm not interested in Trueshot Aura.

I changed again, i went 23,29 this time. I have a thing for spending money on new talent builds i guess. I like this one cuz i have a stun and my scatter shot.
