should we take bets to see if punchy can guess his new password?
btw the ring was 60g not 75.
It seems to be working for me but I'm using fire. The utility for an ice mage is much lower because people get fewer ice resists. Ice mage should probably use a freezing band (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=5579).

That's because you have loot hax, Unk. People like you, Wump, and WC get all the random purples while you're farming while the rest of us go without. :(

I've gotten 3 or 4 but they are never anything I can use. :ohwell:
i do not farm very much at all. usually too much going on.
but, i was working on getting gold for my epic and scored a taran icebreaker once solo.
another afternoon i was playing with NG and we got 2 random BOE epics in the span of 5 hours. Lei of Lillies and a Flurry axe. Saw a random BOE epic drop up in UBRS one time as well while raiding.
generally, people i know who farm mobs for any length of time have gotten a random epic here and there. The more you farm the more likely you are to have scored one.

Well during my run from 55 - 60, I was working Midnights from home and literaly did nothing but play WoW (while on midnight conference calls)fir 16 hrs a day. Most of that time was spent farming @ felstone field (cause its mindless incase I had to do something for work). I managed to collext over 1.5 k of runecloth and went basically from AD firendly to revered all off of the stone turn ins.... if thats not farming Im not sure what is.... I have also spent loads of time farming for different "essences" for people (I.e. Living, water, and fire). Im not claiming to be BB or any form of a chinese farmer, but farming is not foreign (get the punn) to me.... I just have rotten luck.

I've gotten 2 world epic drops - a Bloodrazor (used it in my prot spec/dual-wield days for about 3 months) and a Helm of Narv (sold to Potpie). There were some commonalities to both drops. 1) Early Sunday morning, around 2 am. 2) Both were the 5th item off a mob. I've developed a theory based around this (admittedly small) sample size.
The first part may have been coincidence... but I included it as part of a theory anyway. I think Blizzard has a formula running, with X number of epic drops per server per hour. I think a creature only has a chance to drop an epic item if it has dropped a certain number of other items; for instance, once you've gotten the excellent luck to get 4 items off a single creature, the equation fires up and you have a small chance to get an epic as a 5th item. If I'm right, that means you have the best chance to collect epic items during the server's off hours from creatures with a high chance of dropping many items at once (undead in EPL, demons in Azshara, pterodactyls in Un'Goro).
Might be totally wrong... but that's my belief. :01:

Seriously? None? Wow -- I've gotten duplicate epic drops. Kinda odd, actually. I think my total is like 6 now and I'm fairly certain Wump's is higher.
None here either. in fact, my drop luck is so bad for myself that I have been known to curse other people's farming spots. Cho can verify that.
On the other hand, my loot table when I am group leader tends to be very good for everyone else in my group.

I had an epic dagger drop right about when I hit 60, and I've seen one or two since then, one in UBRS and I think the other in Starth

I've seen a total of 3 world drop epics drop when I was present, and all were in instances. One BRD, 2 UBRS. I got 2 of them because no one else present wanted to use them, so I can't complain about that at all, but I've never seen a world drop epic drop while I've been outside an instance, solo or grouped. I've only seen about 3 blues drop while soloing, even. No wonder I'm so damn poor all the time!

I played QP all the way to 60 and I probably had one blue drop. Manogan got a lot of blues for some reason...
Since then, QP got a Purple world drop. I think I remember seeing one in a party too... all the others have been in RAIDs
They are out there, just have to be killing the right things at the right times! :)
Ive gotten about 4 world drops the other two will drop tonight when I make exalted with Defilers in AB.
quit talking about me! :aargh4:
