Wow, what can I say but wtg Bliztard!

The only pre-raid issue we had last night was attendance. Forty-four people signed up but we started the raid with only 37 -- at least two of which were not even on the list so we had 9 no-shows. Romulus sent me a PM well before 7PM that he was helping Requiem in Scholo and would not be able to attend so kudos to him for the heads up.

Despite our lack of a full raid we tore through the trash mobs leading down to Gehennas. I think we rolled them in near record time. In the process we picked up 3 epic drops (Giantstalker, Might, and Cenarion I believe)

While we were clearing the mobs in front of Gehenna a lovely yellow message scrolled through the chat: "Restarting server to fix several instance issues. Server Restart in 15:00" or something to that effect. Chat was then flooded with a series of "WTF" messages. We weren't experiencing issues unless you count the really nice drop rate of purples!

We decided to pickup the pace and clear the last mobs in front of Gehennas. With about 12 minutes until restart, almost no setup time, and still 3 people short we engaged Gehennas. The fight was going well if a little slowly until Gehennas was at about 40%. At that point we started losing decursers. I was getting nailed by shadow bolts and rain of fire on a regular basis. I was popping potions, whipper roots, and bandaging at a furious pace and was still barely able to keep alive. Finally all my healing abilities were on cool down and I was at about 500hp. I stayed at 500 (excepting regen) for over a curse cycle before a shadowbolt finished me off. I looked at the raid list and noticed all the other mages were down as well. Seconds later the curse hit again and there was no one to remove it so now it was 4x harder to heal Sol. Even with all that we still got Gehennas down to under 10% before we wiped/got booted.

Once the server went down we decided as a raid over TS to re-enter. Blackhand bounced and we tried to log in. Us and everyone else on the server. To say the the login process was painful would be a serious understatement. Once the server was up it took 25-30 minutes for everyone to get back in and to the entrance. About half the raid was out so long they lost their conjured items. Fortunately, I was one of the first ones back and still had my store of conjured water. I immediately began making more and a good thing, too. A lot of people had theirs go *poof* and had to be resupplied with water and healthstones. I set a personal record last night by conjuring north of 1000 water total.

As a result of the reboot all the trash had been respawned. =/ We had to clear all the way back down to Gehennas again. This time we weren't so lucky on the loot. Not a piece dropped. We were, however, treated to a special edition of MC know hereafter as Laggin Core! My latency was never over 200ms but OMG the lag was horrendous. And it got worse as we progressed. By the time we were clearing mobs in front of Gehennas there was nearly a 5 second delay between pressing a spell key and the start of the cast. We weren't the only ones experiencing this problem -- Faded Dreams was also in MC and they were commenting in general chat about how nasty it was for them as well. There were reports from some people that the lag was diminishing so we continued to clear trash hoping it would improve. No luck -- it just kept getting worse. It was so bad, in fact, that we decided it would be futile to attempt downing Gehennas. We took a site-seeing tour into Rags cave and nearly got lag-squashed by a solo surger. At that point we called the raid and ported out to UC and Org.

Ouch!

Sorry I could not make it, I had promised a couple of friends I would go and I needed to get it done, of course we basically wasted a key to the viewing room because as soon as we got it cleared, we got the 15 min reset timer message.

No worries. You didn't miss much obviously. Besides, you let us know well in advance that your spot was open.
