Howdy, Row again, trolling...
Anyways, Guild Event Manager is an awesome addon for coordinating raids and such, within the game... You can create events, sign up for others, and everyone has access to see them, and who is in, really easily, in game. Dunno if you have looked into it or not, but...

If you do pick it up, just be sure to make an HLS channel, password protected, and get out of gemchanneldefault... Keep the good guys in and the bad guys out.:hitwithro

If someone took the time to make good integration with PHP on the web out-of-game side, I'd be into it.
It's nice, but I think it's a bad idea to have administrative stuff like that only in-game.
Plus, it depends on its developer keeping pace with Blizzard - what happens with a major patch is deployed and the addon breaks?
Those who depend on GEM are screwed for scheduling until it gets updated to match Blizzard's patch.
Small scale it's cool - but I think it is a bit naive when one considers the big picture of guild event scheduling, roster management, etc.
I'd bet $$ multiple instances of this have integrated this with websites before. The technical solution could be a huge headache though.
I have noticed that some people don't like to come to our website to look for event posting on the calendar. I have no firm understanding of how many people would prefer using in-game addons to track event participation vs. the status quo.
I'd post a poll, but i'm pretty sure the people who don't come here often would be under-represented and skew results. Plus I think someone raised a decent point... if people won't come here to sign up for stuff (takes about 2 minutes a day to check the calendar) How confident are we that people would keep the GEM addon updated and downloaded?

As to getting/keeping it updated, we run into the same headache with CT, KTM, and the boss mod. Remember our foray into MC with no mods that one night? :D
You question Sol I think is a little bit easier, as people for the majority, keep up to date with RaidManager, CT, and KTM. Just a few people were out of date with RM on Gruul's Tuesday.
I think the biggest part will be if, as PP said, getting it to collaborate with the site's calender.

We depend upon a structured schedule far more than we do those other addons, so I think it's quite different.
Anyone is welcome to step up and work on this - I won't stop anyone who wants to champion something they think will help the group as a whole. I however do not have any spare CPU cycles in my head to give to GEM.

Potpie speaks truth. The calendar mod needs to have roots both in game and at our webspace to be effective. As Sol mentioned, some people just don't come to our website. No idea why, it's full of ripping good humor and focused commentary :)
And some people resent being told to install something clientside not of their choosing. Concern for bugs, keytrackers, spyware and all that. And that libertarian ideal and all...
If PP is over-clocked and smoking, I don't see a reason to press this unless somebody wants to handle it. I know I can't. Beyond my current clockspeed.

After you guys left Blackhand and CC took in some of HE our leadership required and in game addon for raid signups etc. It was a disaster caused alot of friction between the people that could get it to work and the people that could not. I really like the calendar system that PP has set up here, i miss it.

It looks like they've got a decent tool via the GuildLaunch.com hosted solution, but they don't appear to use it.

Get on ontime. Invite everyone and sort it out. Sometimes leads to some weird groups. In the content that we are learning people with the better gear and/or experience get the nod over newer or lesser geared players. This is (or should be) the opposite for kara in an effort to get everyone even. This is the first guild i have been in that does not use master looter, everyone just passes on loot. Only one accident so far. Its been really odd to me i expected alot out of the leadership of this guild. It turns out that Jabber, Healbdam, and myself are better at doing group setups that these guys that farmed nax and BWL. Zones that i never experienced.

Yeah use it for reporting egpg loot stuff but not for signups. On a side not check this site out for stats it rocks!

Wow, there are a shitload of tools there that they do not appear to be using.
my impression of bwl or naxx guilds is that they had a large pool of people with a large amount of raiding time available.
time > skill
My own bias is that they didn't have any special leadership or skillsets that HAWC was lacking.
anyway, i'm biased. my views are extremely self serving.

Your hunters rock.
how do you do on the meters in Karazhan?

Meters belong to the hunters, and warlocks. Sometimes good rogues. We killed the prince with an oddball group the other night. One prot warrior, two rogues, two BM hunters, 1 feral, 1 tree, 1 boomkin, 1 resto shaman, 1 resto pally. The dps group with 2 rogues, 2 bm hunters, and the feral druid was like a dream come true for me :P. Should booted the other hunter for an enhancement shaman though :P

Oh one thing about Ugo and I we are shot rotation macro users. Alot of people think its "cheating" but i dont mind taking out some human error to make sure and maximise raid performance.

plz share some hunter infos on the hunter forum. i'd like to see HLS hunters give the warlocks a run for the money. They are finally getting geared too.

i believe this is how their ele shaman did on the void reaver fight.
the stats are incredibly detailed. kinda like a beefed up damagemeters with bar charts.

When looking at those stats its very helpful to look at the numbers by specific encounter. you can see how long someone was alive and compare dps that way. I really like this tool. Its kinda crazy on Grull because it includes the damage you do to others on shatter.

We have 2 Elemental Shaman... They both can reach top 3 in Kara...
Innova (when not healing) and Amphion are elemental (if your looking at the web stats)
