We had 3 regular instances going last night and 1 heroic instance going.... "ahh no big deal", except we were doing all this simultaneously.

I just wanted to commend HLS on having such awesome collaboration and participation.

The guild is starting to hit a good pace for gearing people up and I want to see that continue so we can progress onto bigger and badder content.

There was another milestone last evening (Sunday 5/6/07) :)

We had a full group in Kara, two groups in Botanica, and several players offline that had signed up for Kara standby and then logged later.

Not a bad accomplishment!

Oh, and for a Kara related milestone, the Wizard of Oz opera event got pwned on our third attempt. Zero deaths on that try and nice loot to boot!

What were the hax?

What were the hax?

I just posted the write-up for the night....

No real hax, just good execution. Having a tank grab aggro on Tinhead and Roar while the respective casters "CC" them works much better than letting the casters solo.

I suspect the same is true of Strawman, we should try that next time if we can spare a tank. Perhaps MT = Roar / Tinhead, OT = Tito / Strawman.

Thoughtses?

Posted up on the Kara recap.

MT=Tinman, O/T Dorothea. Strawman has a ton of HP, but the fire disorientation thing is supposed to be the hax for it.

Don't know :) Only been there once, died unceremoniously in a heap.

Dorothee doesn't seem to care about regular threat generation. She will switch targets at random. She was the only mob in Kara where I just couldn't hold aggro. That's when we decided to just burn her down and ignore who got aggro.

Besides, it doesn't matter who she is nuking really, we all take roughly the same amount of damage. I don't think she did any physical damage.

Every time I recall getting aggro from her she hit me with a frost bolt. I started popping a frost ward periodically and that made a big difference.

On the last attempt I believe I "held agg on Dorothee" just about the whole fight (or what agg there was to hold). Most of the time she didn't get all that close to me but I know at least once she hit me for a crushing blow for over 5k.

Strawman getting locked down helps with that "kiting" a lot. Tinman I didn't have much problem with once Sol got a few sunders on him. I spammed rank 10 frostbolts at him every 3rd or 4th caster after getting a good 5-6 on him to start the kiting. I didn't pick up agg until Tinman was either the last or just about the last mob alive and then I just ran around. I stopped casting frostbolts on him because I wasn't comfortable stopping and casting but I saw War was casting it occasionally so it wasn't a big deal to keep kiting. If war wasn't casting frostbolt I think a tank needs to pick up agg or the mage is gonna die. :)

Dead mages make me sad.

Back on topic.... would it be a milestone to have a Kara run and a heroic run going at the same time? Much learning an pwning and *ahem* wiping going on. :13:

Yes, yes... our blood trail was rather large. But we prevailed :)

Somone mentioned in the raid last night that it was the first time we downed 4 Kara bosses in just one night. Grats!

Ayup, cleared to the back door in one night, which I think is the way it's supposed to be done. =)

Now night 2 can come in the back way, and start right in on Curator.

Aess, Yexia, Warcaster, Sabathius and I cleared Ramparts heroic last night - is that the first clear of a heroic instance by an all guild group?

Pretty sure, the underbog visits haven't gotten further than Ghaz'ran because of time.

The flying boss event had a purple belt in the chest that went to Aessina - I'll have him link it later because I don't remember the name. Also of note, that boss does NOT drop a badge, so you just get badges from the hallway guy and the one who summons dogs. There were a few DE'd items that were pretty nice, but marginally not upgrades.

I got Lion's Heart Girdle

That's a pretty nice DPS piece. Overall, it was a challenge, but not nearly as hard as I had thought.

Did you get any primal nether? I notice both my last two Netherstorm runs, no nethers.

GG's! on the win. No small accomplishment!

They are very do-able, as Moo said. After the patch, unlikely I will run regular mode any more except to supprot leveling, for the challenge as much as the loot.

We did get one - I think it went to WC.

If I remember correctly, I read somewhere that Omar the Unscarred is a guaranteed Primal Nether.

Heh, sounds like a plan. I'm up for some heroic ramparts runs, gdns! I still need lots of normal difficulty runs, though, since I've been amazingly unlucky at getting set pieces... :(
