Is anyone using a Gatherer addon that works?

If so could you let me know where I can download it from please? The one I have does not seem to be completely updated yet and just plain doesn't work. So instead of spending my time searching for one I thought I might inquire here so that I can spend more time playing.:D

Thanks for any available assistance.

Go to gathereraddon.com and get the beta version. It's been working fine for many of us.

Just as a note, the more people using the new gatherer the more data you'll get from guildies since the new version now shares locations as they are harvested/picked with others using the mod.

Which creates a question I have yet to answer myself.. how do I turn off the symbols on my map? I love having the data for my alt but Maelc is a skinner and thus does not need all those flowers and rocks on his map. I don't want to turn off gatherer however as he can still catalog sites for his alt by clicking on the item as if he were going to use it.

I'm pretty sure you can set it so it only shows things you can harvest on the character being played, but since I haven't tried to do that I'm not sure how.

You can pull up the control panel with /gatherer if I remember correctly.

Pretty sure you can do what you need from there.

I really prefer Cartographer's plugins for mining, herbalism, fishing, etc. over Gatherer now.

Might be worthwhile checking them out.

Don't know if you noticed but there is an addon you can get to import Gatherer marks into Cartographer.

So far for me Cartographer has the pants beat off of any other map mod out there. Can get a little cluttery with all the marks it, and it's associated addons, can make, but can really save some time.

Yah, I noticed that - but I didn't install it. What source would I use for the import?

To the best of my knowledge it will import it off the lua for Gatherer. Though it has been so long since I ran gatherer.. LOL

Try the saved variables lua that's stored in your character name folder.

Hehe right, that's a no-brainer -- but I have not run Gatherer ever, so I have no lua file with data to use. ;)

I would need a pre-compiled Gatherer lua to work with.

There was a tool once called GatherBook. It could generate a .lua like what you need. I doubt it works with the new format though.

Or someone could post one here. :)
But I haven't run Gatherer since it broke, so I don't have one...

Yep, I checked that too:

Seems the data is pretty dated. :ohwell:

Just to be different than some late posts.. I use gatherer, I like gatherer and will continue to use it. Heh heh.

BTW, typing /gatherer gives you the list of options to do things like ignore icons for stuff you can not use.

Maelc,

you can define profiles within the gui on gatherer. It is at the very top. Create a profile for each toon and you should be set.
