Yes even a resto shammy can solo a level 56 elite. :cool2:

I found it easier to solo elites with a resto build than with my current enhancement build. Channeling heals ftw! I'm going back to Resto at 70, and may go back earlier depending on how tough soloing in Outland is.

I think 20 Enh, 31 Resto (for MTT) is a stronger solo build, actually. Of course, what I really want is 31/31...

Earthshield and a big 2hander is AMAZING for solo grinding. You have more damage mitigation than 1h and shield because of the reactive heal on hit, along with the power of big windfury crits. Level 61 shaman on some of the other boards I hang around on have been going insane about just how good 41/11 is for leveling.

You can't have a 2her and Earthshield until level 61, and even then you lose a lot of the good 2h talents.
