holy crap....
Yeah, orc racial needs to go :)

Yea, much as we all want to be dealers of death in this game, I can't imagine Bliz letting that go on. That is equal to or beyond some current end-level bosses ability to damage, else us warriors would be toasted crabmeat after one whack.
What was the cast?

LOL he has enough damage buffs to choke a horse... uh nerf buffs?
can anyone identify all the buffs he has on him?

Imp demonic sac (15% fire bonus), Spellpower flask, Major Firepower, major shadow power, Orc racial, Zandalarian Hero Charm, Bezerking, (most likely) major wizard oil, Demon armor. EDIT: Missed Moonkin aura.
The spell was soul fire, it currently gets 200% spellpower applied to it because of it's cast times.
Given the spells I see on his bars, I'm going to guess he's a 0/21/30, with focus on heavy fire. The reason I say this is even though that's a ruin crit, he doesn't have shadowburn on any of his bars and he also has searing pain hotkeyed to his mouse instead of shadowbolt.

I wonder if they didn't goof the coding of one or more of the buffs in this patch, and make it multiply all effects rather than work off base?

That hits hard, if that's representative. In my current gear, fully raid buffed and armed, with shield, I sit at 9000 armor, 7000 HP, and 407 def. If that hit me, I would STILL get hit for at least 3000 to 3500 HP minimum.
Now I understand how mages 2 shot me in AB..... depressing.

that spell would hit you for 10k too.
spell damage ignores armor, and unless you have the new "imp defensive stance" which is 6% spell damage mitigation or a lot of Shadow Resist gear, you'd feel the full brunt of this spell.
setting aside the 6% protection talent. warriors have no spell damage mitigation unless they have +SR/+FR/+NR gear.

OUCH..... I would be dead. :spankme:
I keep forgetting that armor doesn't mitigate magic damage. How do we deal with that?

Without ruin, my soulfires can crit for 5100 so far. If I were to spec in that manner, crits would be going for around 7500 without those buffs in my normal gear. This patch, soulfire went from being the joke of the warlock spells to possibly the most powerful player spell in the game. Even Pyroblast can't touch it anymore, given the power boosts from going 0/21/30

nerf locks... :P
Wear resist gear in PvP?
if I put on my SR set (which was a pain to assemble), I get about 180 Shadow resist. but my attack power and +crit become so low as to become a really cruel joke. It probably halves my DPS output to be able to mitigate that much Shadow damage.
its not a coincidence that high end Melee +atk and +crit gear has no resistance on them. Its a binary relationship that Blizzard enjoys.

Soul fire is a fire spell:flame:
Also, this board has a ton of emoticons.

i can get 300 fire resist too, but its worth noting that my DPS in full FR is less than Myrc's new Felguard, Thoothun.

Nothing...well you can do something.
You can sleep well knowing that he used 75g worth of consumables to kill you. :icon16:

Hmm, that does make me feel better about that potentially happening to me. That, and since I like to drop grounding totems in PvP the possibility it won't affect me is kinda nice... :sasmokin:

My new felguard can get crusing around 300+ with The Black Book (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=40734) on him. I need to find a friendly warrior to give him some battle shout lovin' to see what he can top out at.
Warlocks are so broken right now. We have a pet that can put out dps comparable to some classes, fire and forget time bombs of death, and can still burst damage hard enough to oneshot people. For now, I'm going to enjoy our godhood, as I know it's going to get beaten with the nerf bat so hard one of these days, and we're going to be back set back to release strength.

It's not entirely him in that shot. That's with battle shout and Unleashed Rage to bring him up to that attack power number, and then I Black Booked (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=40734) him. Without the outside buffs, he only gets to around 300 dps.black booked. He scales stupidly well though.
It's a shame he can't get windfury.

300dps for a GD pet? I hope it sucks the lifeforce of the warlocks so they can't add to that...

Not that I really have to help much, but no, I'm free to do whatever else I want. Having him around is like having a warrior buddy that doesn't take any loot. Last night in Scholo he was offtanking as well as I've seen some pug warriors do. Today in PvP he was eating hunters and rogues left and right without even hitting him with the book. He's such an amazing pet, I know he's going to get nerfed. There just isn't anyway for him not to.

/agree Melf. Ran with Manogan's alt lock Rollinz tonight in BRD. The things are amazingly durable. It had very little trouble assisting with Incendius, and generally did a good job in the pulls with multiple fire bosses.
Can't wait till I can get one for Karj,
This is the 41 point tree. How does it affect your destro/affliction?
Myrcaus

You don't need points in any other tree with 41 in Demo.
I'm 7/44/0.

I went 8/43/0 for the little extra threat reduction off affliction skills. But when you have a pet that's practicly another player, buffing up the rest of your skills really isn't a major issue.
I sure miss shadowburn though, and 3 second shadowbolts seem so long.
