Teamspeak/Vent Plugin for Perl

Check out the new Ventrilo/Teamspeak plugin from the author of Perl frames (http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-4507-1-xperl-unitframes.html). Basically, it will put a little icon next to the person's unit frame in game that is speaking in Ventrilo. No more "who was that?" or hurry to alt-tab and see whose mic is going berzerk.

XPerl itself and Perl don't take any brainpower beyond reading and clicking to configure.

me and myrc tested this out.

both sides need the mod.

what this essentially does is detect on the other people who have the mod if the PTT key is being pushed (push to talk).

the biggest downside is that it does not work with the ctrl, shift, or alt keys. Which are pretty popular PTT keys.

nifty mod though, i installed it. I use the CTRL key though, so won't see it when i am talking.

It also doesn't work Mac-to-PC, as the keymaps are different.

However - I tried out the whole X-Perl frames addon, and OMG does it rock. Try it out! Lots of good stuff in there for raid leaders / class leaders, highly configurable, good healer options, etc. etc.

Six billion ways to tweak it. Very nice. I give it 4.5 coconuts.

The TS/Vent thing, I give 1 coconut. Good idea, would be better if it worked. =)

Have to agree with Myrc there... XPerl is great for healers... Configuring it to use "fat health bars" makes seing things sooo much easier...

Not to mention... When someone is cursed/magic/poison/etc... Their frame gets highlighted... This will be VERY handy for when they kill decursive.

Hopefully the Vent/TS thing will turn enough heads and get greatly improved upon.

I've made the rounds through all sorts of unit frames. XPerl is my hands down favorite -
it works with CastParty and any other click to heal mod I've seen (which will all still work sans "healomatic" behavior come BC). The nameplate retains default behavior so I can still use the right key to access the drop down menu and the left key still targets while I have both of those bindings being used in CastParty. It's constantly being updated and tweaked.
