Shaman Weapon Buff Experiment

While teasing Snar about using Rockbiter on raids in another thread, I got to thinking:

What if I used Flametongue Weapon (http://www.thottbot.com/?sp=16342) with all my + Spell Damage gear on?
I'm pretty sure + spell damage affects it - I know for a fact it gives my Lightning Shield a significant boost.

I think I'm going to try it out at the Withering tonight with a couple of different weapons. ;)

Might want to try out Frostbrand too, if it boosts Flametongue. My hunch is that it won't since it's a proc, not a spell being cast, but that's only a hunch. My +damage gear doesn't affect Lifesteal, but I've never paid attention to the damage of a proc buff when I cast one so I don't know if they are treated differently.

Frostbrand Weapon (http://www.thottbot.com/?sp=16356) would be cool to try on a fast weapon, like my Flurry Axe. ;) More attacks = more chances to proc. I bet it's affected by +spell damage too.
