I am researching what leatherworking path I want to take, Tribal, Dragonscale, or Elemental.
From thotbot I have decided Elemental would be the worst for a hunter. Most people there say Dragonscale is the thing for a hunter but I gather that is mostly based it it being mail. To be honest, I don't plan to be in much melee. As a hunter I feel I should be back handing out DPS like it were water.
Tribal does not have much for stat bonuses (mostly resistance) but the Devilsaur set looks great for increasing damage. Like I said most on thotbot say dragon but there are some good arguements for Tribal. For example materials are not as hard to get.
So, what are the thoughts of anyone here? Is there an area I should consider for the guild. I would assume that the guild is well covered but then I don't know.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

The guild has multiple dragonscale leatherworkers, so if you want any of that it's pretty easy to get. I think someone is tribal as well, but I don't know of any elemental leatherworkers offhand.

Manogan is Tribal and can make anything you need, if you decide to pursue the Dragonscale.
I believe Snar and PP are both Dragonscale, LW.

The Black Dragonscale set is very good for a hunter. But that's pretty much the only reason to be a dragonscale leatherworker :)

i did tribal for the devilsaur set and actually wore it until i got my champions set and mc upgrades. the attack power and 2 piece set bonus as well as crit is very nice. it is leather but as you said you shouldn't get hit. plus the devilsaurs are solo farmable as a hunter... just be careful with the ones that fear which are the tyrant ones i believe. the ironback ones though a bit higher in level (56?) are a much easier fight. any two people could farm these if you didnt want to try it solo.

I found a wealth of information there to answer all my leatherworking questions when my druid was confused about which to pick.

Yexi is elemental, but doesn't have many patterns yet. She is working on it. (I went elemental because War has leatherworker on one of his alts, and he is thinking of going Tribal.)
I think everyone's point here is that you can choose what you think is best, and the guild will help cover you where you are lacking. For example, if you choose Tribal and want some Dragonscale items made feel free to look up our Dragonscale experts. When you look at it, what seems the most fun to you?

I'm Elemental LW and am slowly growing on the pattern area. More runs with you guys that may drop some and gold gathering to buy more should set me off a bit quicker....
Getting Gaili to go Tribal ASAP.

Thanks!
I took Tribal. I felt the deviate set was best for my characters style and as mentioned I can get dragonscale from someone else. I am hoping to work some days on this skill so that I can make good stuff sooner than later.

Zulazee is an Elemental Leather worker and we spent the time to get her all the stormshroud patterns, I know she has a bunch of other patterns too.
My shaman Korllach is Dragonscale, I have (but cannot make yet) full set of green dragonscale, and Black Dragonscale shoulders and BP. havnt found the pants patern yet.
