Some people have been asking me how I put out such an insane amount of damage, so I decided to post my talent spec and reasons for choosing it.
Arms Talents - 32 points
Deflection - rank 5/5
Improved Rend - rank 3/3
Improved Charge - rank 2/2
Improved Overpower - rank 2/2
Deep Wounds - rank 3/3
Two-Handed Weapon Specialization - rank 5/5
Impale - rank 2/2
Axe Specialization - rank 5/5
Sweeping Strikes - rank 1/1
Improved Hamstring - rank 3/3
Mortal Strike - rank 1/1
Fury Talents - 5 points
Cruelty - rank 5/5
Protection Talents - 14 points
Anticipation - rank 5/5
Improved Bloodrage - rank 2/2
Toughness - rank 5/5
Last Stand - rank 1/1
Improved Revenge - rank 1/3
I believe the Arms/Protection spec has the most utility because not only can you eat rogues, Fury warriors, and pretty much anyone else for breakfast, you also have enough talents to be the MT for any raid should there not be a pure Def specced warrior at hand.
I know the dual wielding Fury warrior is popular, but let me explain why a 2h Arms/Def spec will give you more damage output than a dual wielding Fury spec. First off, there's the insane +25% chance to miss with both hands penalty. You don't generate any rage off of misses, and we don't have the agility of a rogue to offset this. Second, there's the off hand damage penalty, making an already low dps weapon even worse, though the recent addition of the dual-wield talent has offset this somewhat. Then there's the final Bloodlust talent, which really needs more work. I forget what my exact attack power is, but from the last time I calculated it, it translated to just a tad over 300 damage, which is less than what a Defensive warrior's Shield Slam does.
Another strike against the Fury warrior is that they lack the utility of being able to serve as a tank, because they invariably need the Arms tree to support them.
But back to damage: I've been asked several times if a 2h wep is better than two 1h weps. The answer is an overwhelming YES! With dual wielding, not only do you crit less often because of the +25% chance to miss, but your crits are also much, much smaller. My highest record crit against a player was 4774, an execute against a mage. My highest PvE crit was around 4200 against Drak. These don't happen every day, of course, but my regular crit range is usually 2-3k.
A few comments on my talents: I chose to ignore Tactical Mastery because that's more suited for Defensive warriors. Usually I only need to play one role at any given time: dps or tank. If I need to switch stances in a hurry, that's what Improved Bloodlust is for.
I went with Axe Mastery because, until the addition of that insane 70+ dps sword that Hakkar drops, the Arcanite Reaper, and axes in general, have the highest max damage in the game. Using swords would deprive me of the +5% chance to crit, which is HUGE.
Improved Hamstring is strictly for PVP. If you don't plan on any PVP, put the points in something else.
Improved Bloodrage, Last Stand, and Toughness are absolutely essential. Imp Bloodrage offsets the lack of Tactical Mastery, Last Stand gives over 1k of hps in emergencies, and Toughness offsets the lack of a shield.
Other stuff: Keep two sets of gear on you, one for dps, the other for tanking. Your regular dps gear should have Strength be the primary stat, and Stamina the secondary. Vice verca for tanking gear. Agility should always be your tertiary stat since we don't get as much out of it as rogues or hunters. Wear as much +crit gear as you can get your hands on instead.
The max damage on a 2h weapon is more important than its dps.

Any questions?
