Once again the forces of HAWC descended upon the heat ravaged depths of Molten Core.

Overall there was a lot to pleased with about last night's raid. Members of all guilds have been stepping up their game. In fact, the top 15 for damage was a lot like what I'd expect to see with rogues on top, mages/warlocks/hunters clustered in nicely, and a shaman and DPS warrior thrown in for good measure. Plus it was relatively flat behind Prowl and Despicable.

#01: 6.30% Despicable 849729
#02: 5.60% Prowl 755457
#03: 4.87% Apolon 657490
#04: 4.62% Aredhel 623330
#05: 4.52% Unka 609608
#06: 4.31% Myrcinstatos 581005
#07: 4.29% Jabber 578786
#08: 4.28% Gung 576704
#09: 4.18% Albdam 564314
#10: 4.17% Greenmember 562713
#11: 3.89% Cyzzyzzkz 524232
#12: 3.82% Kigora 515582
#13: 3.77% Azmoo 508051
#14: 3.66% Mudsloth 493234
#15: 3.65% Warcaster 492078

Even with looting I used to be able to maintain a top 15 spot with relative ease. Now I have to work for it. This is not a bad thing!

Our DPS was strong in the beginning of the raid. I use Firelords as a barometer for how much DPS the raid brings. Last night the firelords were dead well before the 2nd spawn would have popped.

We had one minor oops clearing to Geddon -- someone (I thought it was me at first) was angling for sight on a destroyer pull and agged a Firelord. The raid picked it up and handled it nicely.

The only thing to note on the Geddon fight was for the 2nd week in a row a lag spike hit at almost exactly 50%. By the time everyone was unfrozen we'd had two bombs go off in the middle of the raid leaving only a handful of players standing. Wipe #1. We got everyone rezzed and pulled of a near flawless second attempt.

Shazzrah down on a single attempt and the raid moved on.

We have one lava pack on the way to Sulfuron that someone inevitably aggs prematurely. I don't know if the agg range on that one is messed up or what the deal is but it happens on every raid.

The DPS showed itself again on the Sulfuron fight. This time because I never went OoM. I normally have to resort to my wand because I've blown an Evo, a ruby, and jade during that fight and I'm out of tricks. Last night a ruby and an Evo were all I needed. Nice work -- to bad Sulfuron insists on dropping that crappy polearm. Oh well, at least it will be a steady supply of Nexus crystals when hunters stop skwanting it.

Nothing special to report about the Golemagg fight except that HE is now within an ingot or two of what they need for their legendary weapon.

The raid cleared to Domo before I was completely done looting and had to play catch-up. Nice DPS.

On Domo we avoided a near disaster. Okay, by "we" I mean "me." I was calling out the mage order over Vent (or at least I think I was -- I was looking at my cheat sheet and not my monitor or my keyboard) and must have hit NumLock instead of my PTT key. I glanced up just in time to see the lava pit coming into view and Az say over vent "War, where you going?" But it was too late, Domo and Co. agged on me and I cringed mightily at the thought of pulling a n00b move and wiping the raid. Fortunately, though, my flimsy constitution meant I dropped so fast the rest of the raid never entered combat and Domo reset with me as the only casualty. Talk about a pucker moment, though.

Sadly, that was just a delay in the inevitable. Because Blizzard hates us, we had another lag spike in the middle of our first Domo attempt. once again, by the time the raid unfroze HAWC bodies carpeted the ground. Wipe #2. With a collective sigh we again went through the wipe recovery drill. Jabber fired off a nasty-gram to a Blizzard CM. Good luck, sir!

On the second attempt Domo went down and we sped through the loot as fast as possible to get in a Rags attempt.

Unfortunately, our mighty DPS seems to have tapered off a little on Rags. He was still above 50% when the sons emerged. The mana burn from the sons pretty much tore us apart and left us will little mana to continue the fight. But we did get the sons down just before Rags emerged again. Sadly, we lost a lot of DPS to the sons and were only able to get him down to 30%.

At that point it was well past 10PM and we called the raid. Rags and Hakkar still live. But both have an appointment with destiny and HAWC shall make sure they keep it.

30% is dandy! tried to make it, but got stuck in the q and missed the 15minute reserve mark =/ Great work it sounds though on that raid.

Dang it! If I could have only survived those two boss fights, I would have been higher in DPS... oh well!

I thought several times last night, 'we got game'! I don't know if the planets were in alignment or the gods just decided to smile, but the Allied War Council was on the money last. The lag was a shot in the pooper, but there's not much we can do about that. It's refreshing to be able to say the lag only limited our number of attempts and that the mad skillz shown last night did not inhibit our Rags visitation, giving us time to practice and continue to refine our methods.

Great job by the tankers, the healers, and the DPS'ers in managing the instance with precision. Getting folks over the hurdle of inexperience and awe is going to go a long way. With the control of the sons being doable, it's all about DPS now! We are close to making Ragnaros 'our bitch'. Soon, he will be wearing the goat suit and calling us "Mommy and Daddy". Barbeque for all!

Upon further thought...... I think we need to make 1 more refinement on the Rags fight...

I think that once we see the 15 second warning.... that we should start running back to phase 1 positions and let the 2-3 groups in range of the sons finish the last 1 or 2 off. I saw alot of people go flying when rags emerged cause he threw a FB at someone and we were all very clumped up. This also lost a good 6-10 people as I saw people hitting the back wall -- thats just too much lava to swim through.

Minor tweak.... but might prove beneficial.

Sounds like a plan! We need to work on spacing a bit - it was pretty good but I think we need to utilize the space more. Mages only have a 30yd range on frost/arcane, is shadowbolt 40yds? if so, we should take that into consideration when we're figuring out where to stand.

GG last night, even with the lag I had fun!!

Sorry, early when I posted, yes it was the raid i missed! ZG raids may have helped teamwork, competition, and gear upgrades to increase our dps and durability.
