Myrc, question for ya.. you & I have the same Demo build as with the exception of SL...for grins I've been playing more with the marshmellow lately (havent really used him since.. lvl.. 23?..maybe..) anyways... are there any hard #'s comparing his taunt with a warriors? I am currious as to just HOW effective they are in an endgame instance...still new to the "End Game" and trying to find a way to utilise what I got. :thinking:

I think that's pretty much it. Standard 30/0/21 SM/Ruin build. Though I may have 2 points in Intensity instead of Cataclysm. Not sure, though it wouldn't really matter.

I have 3/3 in Improved VW and I can still pull mobs off him with CoA/Corr and my wand (Stormrager). His taunt is pretty weak.

As a tank, he's worthless, but as an offtank he can serve quite well. I've MT'ed Strat liveside, but I do it with SL and generally use VW only on the bosses as a HP battery / shield victim or to offtank something.

The only use I have for the VW in MC is to DS him for the health regen on long fights were a lot of damage can hit me - Luci, Mags (but not so much anymore with good FR), and Gehennas.

Myrc, quick question...why would you go with 3 points in Imp VW, and not put them into Fel Stamina? It seems that would be points that are wasted a bit for an improved shield, when if the points were in Fel Stamina you would have a benefit through all the pets...just curious.

I can't answer for Myrc, but in my case.. it's due to the fact that the Succy & Imp are glass cannons as far as health goes, & the VW does pretty good on his own.. IF he happens to go down I can near instant summon a second pet to pick up where the other fell (think of it as double the HP), and with the 3 in IVW it ups his taunt skillz that might (or not, dunno) help yank a nasty off one of us squishies, at least for a lil bit. Then again that was MY logic behind it..YMMV :wiggle:

I have a few reasons, the first of which is that I don't think Fel Stamina and Fel Intellect are particularly good buys. They just don't increase the capability of the pets enough to justify 5 points, IMO, and spending less doesn't have a measurable impact.

I put 3/3 in Imp VW primarily for the shield when I specced out of Intensity, since I'd need the help for AE stuff in 5man runs.

Later I came to like it for the increased durability in PvP through Fel Domination, which gives me 2x 2500+ point absorbtion in addition to my HP, or the choice of Soul Link, or both (SL the VW down to near death, then Shield, FD another, SL again).

For particularly nasty solo stuff, I can Sacrifice a VW for the shield, then FD another and DS him for the regen - that's helped me do some "impossible" things. =)

It also does help his taunts, which still doesn't let him tank against damage, but can keep a mob off the healers if I ask him to offtank in Strat/Scholo or places like that.

FYI I have no clue how Im going to respec for BC..... so many options..... having to balance for Leveling/Raiding is a concern. I need more information regarding BC Dungeons to truly drcide I think.

All 3 Trees are now Uber, depending on play styles -- its amazing.

Im leaning to Full Destruction or Full Affliction ATM...... but the Demo tree looks faster for leveling and still provides vestatility of DS/Rezz Loving.

Who Knows.
