So, with a grand total of 10 or so attmepts on this guy what have we learned?

Couple of things i have picked up, First and formost GUIDES SUCK... sure they give us a basic idea of what the encounter entails but aside from that i think we are much better off figureing out what works for US not what works for guild XX. Im not sayin all guides suck and that asking for ideas is bad but for the most part once we learn the basics of the fight unless we decide to write out our own strat on the mob we should do the thinking instead of letting the other people think for us (this is all my oppinion and should be taken as such).

Second, phase one is a breeze now that we understand what the bosses are going to do and when to do what to them. we have a decent strat to get them to the point where we can AE them down and destroy dems! The only questions i have on phase 1 is how do we help the healers more so they have more mana going into phase 2? I do like the idea of having the 2 druids kinda remaining out of the healing to pick up the MT when Tony goes nuts would it be possible to make one of the 2 a priest so heals dont overlap?

Tiger adds yeah we covered that :P they need to die like yesterday

I think Sol was on to something when he pointed out that yesterday Tony didnt do that speedslash thing as often and that it prolly has alot to do with range we were all standing at max range yesterday and i think the only time Tony actually came into the raidgroup was when Sol bit it and another tank was running up to get Agg or when a taunt was missed/resisted

I know we can beat this guy, i also know that we need more ZG lubbins cause that place is cool!

anyway those are just a couple of my observations, please discuss and lets go kick this Kitten's butt!

You hit the nail right on the head... What other guilds do may, or may not, work for you. Every strat out there means nothing if does not work for you. Take them as advice and that is about all...

Find your strengths in your raid and use them... Find your weakness and improve on them...

Not commenting on the rest, but Nurgo is EXACTLY right here. Two druids should NEVER be assigned to the same healing role if possible. Since they rely more heavily on Heals over Time to give them their healing power, and HoTs don't stack, druids stack the least well of any of the horde healing classes. As a general rule, it works better to not duplicate healing classes until you have all three possible classes on the target already. Even then, it's better to add additional priests and shamans before doubling up on the druids.

The reason we did it last night was more out of conveniance then any other thing, since i was in Bear form for phase 1 and Kaletah was helping with dps and conserving mana (right?)

1 hot tip:

warriors do a drive by disarm of thekal whenever they can during phase 1, this removes his ability to mortal cleave the MT for 2500 or so damage.

I think distance will be the key.
Cause he just dropped aggro to easy in phase 2. perhaps when everyone is further away, he will only turn to another melee type and attack instead of gunning for the groups.
2nd day, 1st attempt, we tried standing in a dark patch of grass. that might work if we all get to max range.

As for what the melee damage does.... hard to say. I got 1 shoted from him as my rogue if he noticed me.

Oh, and I remember someone saying that if you jump with him when he does his aoe, it won't knock you around. Good to remeber.

Good luck with him in the near future!!

note: Alliance shouldn't be allowed to write guides OR should be required to state when they are alliance. Stupid pallies

this is important from a mana conservation perspective.
