This is indeed true. Zandalarian Hero Charm and the Talisman of Ephemeral Power can no longer be stacked, along with most of the other trinkets from Zul'Gurub and the level 50 class quest trinkets. A simultaneous cooldown will prevent these items from being used simultaneously.

EDIT: Let me explain the cooldown further, since there are questions. Use of these trinkets will trigger a cooldown equal to the duration of the effects -- which means that you can indeed use one directly after another.

--------------------------

Well so much for ever needing to go to ZG .. there are talks of nerfing Arcane Power in the review as well in order to get "invisibility." I think overall there are maybe 3% of mages with the 2 trinkets / AP specced. Maybe 10% that have 1 trinket and are AP specced. After reading a little more on the forums I'm not so completely against the nerf. Although it's speculation, they are probably laying down some framework to boost the other 97% of mages without both trinkets damage, while at the same time keeping the 3% that have it from becoming ungodly. I really, really hope they bump up frost damage somehow, as I would love to go back to Frost/Arcane. The AQ book was a good start ( -1 second cast time and +100 dmg, /cheer)

I don't think this is the way to go personally, but with the way people whine on the forums ( I used to think mages whined alot, then I read other class forums, it's every class ) It had to be done, I am happy it happened before I got my ZHC, I was thinking of paying some twink guild 5-700g to take my through ZG for the heart, now I can save my money.

The reviews have made paladins a viable class (1500 hammer of wrath crit, I got hit with it and blinked away looking for a hunter, then I read damage log and saw a paladin did it.. surprising) and healing priests can now be effective damage dealers in PvP rather than dispelling/healbots. I really hope they do well for mages, imo they need it the most, but I am a mage, so take that with a grain of salt.. hearing the deathlords on Teamspeak is sorta funny "oh dont worry about flag, a mage has it" "sweet a mage free honor" .. So, yeah, buff up the damage in the ice tree, make it a PvP spec instead of PvE. /beg

Also, hit rank 11 today, got an epic mount for 90g , the mount is exactly the same as my previous mount, but it's red. Could of at least changed the graphic a little I think, but anyway, 2-3 more weeks until general and the purple PvP loot will flow, also should hit exalted with AB in 2-3 weeks, Hi ironbark staff and purple shoulders.

PvP epics in 3 months = 6
PvE epics in 5 months = 2

just something to think about ;)

There's a trinket that drops that gives +100 resistances and is on a 1 minute cooldown, making the eye sorta useless. Plus in past experience with -40 target resistance gear, people still resist a ton. Give me dmg plz =/

Don't forget time invested, PF. If you'd been doing PvE as much as you've been doing PvP, you'd have a lot more PvE epics. They may or may not be as good since they wouldn't all be MC loot, of course. Since you've put the lion's share of your playtime into PvP the fact that you're seeing more rewards there isn't surprising nor is it possible for people who don't play as much a week to see since so many are rank-dependent. Just a bit more to think about... ;)

It was a necessary change. IE mages were bitching that warriors would two shot them, then those trinkets came out and we bitched back, along with many other classes about being two shotted every two minutes.

Agree on the "loot" turn over. The time required for benefit is a tad better than the drops of mc/zg....As we continue to improve on those raids though the relation will end and pvp gear will be of lesser quality compared to the BWL/AQ loot tables...least the gear will help us perform better as we progress. Still keeping hope that blizz buffs the pvp items to stay in competition with the pve items that are absolutely crazy in stats.

Hopefully this evening I can squeeze out 7 wins in WSG to reach exalted then all I got left are the warlord items. Still have my doubts for HWL.... Even giving up MC nights 2x a week, trying to make 650k a week for 6 weeks is nuts without your guild buddies assistance on a bot campaign...if you work and have family.

We share the same sickness now PF... its gotten much harder and we continue to Bring It Hard.

Yeah it isn't really all that bad of a change. Many mages are growing way too reliant on the trinkets and won't fight without them up. Arcane Power is where the real damage comes from anyway, hopefully that doesn't get nerfed too bad in the mage review. I just noticed that 3 hawc members are on the front page of the PvP rankings now, woot! AB weekend! It's sorta cool talking in the world defense channel now too ;)

The thing that bugs me is I regularly get crushed by warriors in 2 shots. Granted not every warrior is capable of it, but the number of those that can is a lot more than I see mages with ToEP and the Hero Charm. When I go into a bg and see that the person with the highest killing blows is a warrior by more than double, something is wrong.

I'm a mage, so like pf you need to take this with a grain of salt, but I think mages are pretty gimped all things considered. I can't damage like a rogue (though in pvp I'm all front end damage so I can get a lot of killing blows, dagger rogues are similar), I can't dump agg, I virtually no armor and I give up all my mana for +dmg gear.

Mages really need to be tweaked not gimped.

As far as Warlord goes, grats to both Kul and PF on your progress. General looks to be in range. I think I might put a bit of a push into Lt General this week and next (i'm 50% through Champ) and then I'm on vacation for a week. Hopefully I can get enough in that week to keep me from dropping and then I will decide if i'm going to push for General. Warlord seems like a hell of a reach.

Heh.

On the other side of the coin, I get two shotted by mages all the time in AV. I am one of those warriors that is not quite capable of killing you in two shots. I can hurt you but you always seems to get away.

My frustration with that is what led to me kick the PVP habit for a while. I may go back but it wont be soon.

ruuk wtf - there is no way you can get 2 shotted by a mage as a warrior!!

i mean, at least you shouldn't be...

as a warrior you should have more than 4k hp, and there is no way a mage can do that dmg in 2 spells :(

the only way i suppose if 2 mages with AP / Trinkets / Pyro at the same time on you, but i dont recall ever being able to drop any warrior even with crap gear in 2 shots :D

that being said i really do like killing warriors. keke.

yar sorry ruuk, i must retract my statement, esp in av where you can get battle standards and capn's buff, etc. i can see that dropping anything in 2 shots with some nice crits. just wouldn't think it would happen all that often, but i do certainly see that its very possible.

<-- foot in mouth :D

No worries Wump-Ruuk is obviously being modest as it would certainly take at least 18 mages at the same time to drop any HAWC WARIOROROROROROR!!!!
omg thunderdome.

In my PVP gear (which is decent but not Kul level) I have a little over 4400 HPs and 4000 armor. There are several mages and warlocks who kill me easily.

That rabid gnome, Niqeuqal or whatever, I HATE him.

I suspect EVERYONE on our side hates playing against Niquequal (sp?). He's got way more hps than any mage should have, plus a hell of a lot of +damage gear. He's killable, but he makes you work for the honor.

I am surprised that your HP are so low, since I've always figured that warriors had a lot more HP than shamans. I run about 4300hp unbuffed and 4400AC with PvP gear, though that's obviously using a shield so I'm giving up melee damage output to get that "parity." One of these days I need to try to PvP using a 2h weapon, though I'm worried about the impact of losing half my armor on my survival rate.

Don't sweat survival rate in PvP.

You need to do DAMAGE. ;)

Agreed but I can't do damage when I am dead. All that happens is some Alliance walks by and pokes my corpse with a stick. :poke:
